Dearest Rogue is book 8 in Elizabeth Hoyt's Maiden Lane series. While I've read all her "Prince" series books I have only read one other Maiden Lane book, "Darling Beast", book 7, which I will be jointly reviewing next month with Elisabeth Lane.. Dearest Rogue is the story of Lady Phoebe Batten, the youngest sister of the Duke of Wakefield. Dearest Rogue may be my favorite Maiden Lane book yet. The romance between Phoebe and Trevillion will sweep you up, and besides that there is adventure, mystery, and an adorable child. Elizabeth Hoyt's books just keeps getting better! Dearest Rogue by Elizabeth Hoyt My rating: 3 of 5 stars Note to self: You liked Phoebe and James for the first half of the book where their relation transitioned from blind sister to Duke and the bodyguard who restricts her movements to friends who have feelings for each other. You really liked that Phoebe was happy to go exploring the physical side of her feelings, even though James was.

Hoyt's eighth Maiden Lane series installment (after Darling Beast) imbues 18th-century England with vivid realism, as a protector falls in love with the woman he is guarding. Capt. James Trevillion, previously a member of the 4th Dragoons, has been hired by the Duke of Wakefield to guard his blind sister, Lady Phoebe Batten, from the threat of kidnapping. If you're looking for a bodyguard romance to love, you HAVE to read Dearest Rogue!! The heroine is the sister of a duke, is blind, and has a huge grump of a bodyguard. James is broody but you can just feel how much he adores Phoebe and is willing to do anything to protect her.
